INCOME IMPACT AREA

Meets basic needs and promotes financial stability

Many people in our community don’t have the resources that allow them to meet their basic needs for food and housing. The Income Impact Area goes beyond those basic needs to address the obstacles they may face in getting and retaining employment. It also supports programs and strategic initiatives that promote community changes to help families increase their financial capability and security.

United Way is committed to helping families and individuals develop the skills and access the tools they need to become financially stable. To reach our goal we invest in, and partner with programs and organizations that provide for:

BASIC NEEDS

The basic needs of all people during times of need through;

  • access to food; and,
  • access to shelter.

EMPLOYMENT

Workforce development capacity for youth and adults by:

  • providing support so they have the well being and assistance they need to work; and,
  • training them for the job and life skills they need to work.

HOUSING

Appropriate housing by:

  • providing access to alternative housing options to those who need them; and,
  • supporting people to live in affordable housing.

FINANCIAL STABILITY

Increased financial stability for families and individuals by:

  • mobilizing systems and organizations to create opportunities and services that lead to stable lives.
