UNITED WAY OF CHITTENDEN COUNTY IS NOT A CHAPTER, AN AFFILIATE OR A BRANCH....WE ARE OUR OWN 501c3.
Governed by a local Board of Directors, we are part of a national system of United Ways who work together under an umbrella national organization, United Way Worldwide (UWW), which really serves us as a sort of trade association. We pay dues to UWW, and for that we benefit from, among many other things: use of the very strong brand; market and consumer research; best nonprofit fundraising practices; strategic planning training and much much more. The result is that we each serve our own community in our own unique way, all working to advance the common good by creating opportunities for a better life for all, focusing on Education, Income and Health -- the building blocks for a good quality of life.
